About Kindred Psychotherapy
“True kinship takes a warm heart. In essence, it is about being together, deeply honestly. We talk about love so much but we forget that it is something we give rather than get: a way of being.”
– Ilse Crawford
Welcome to Kindred Psychotherapy!
What’s in a name? I chose Kindred for a few reasons. In many ways, the work of therapy is that of honoring and creating kinship. Together, we look at what it was like growing up in your home, with your kin. We look at the relationships with created family and friends that have and continue to shape you. We build a sense of kinship through shared therapeutic space.
Kindred is about connection, and in therapy I prioritize and strive for connection. We build connection with ourselves and with others through exploration and trust. From that foundation, growth happens. I became a therapist because as a client in my own therapy, I found and became connected with parts of myself that I had not been able to really love and accept before. That experience of feeling fully seen by another person led me to deeper acceptance and celebration of myself. I knew this sacred and powerful space was one I wanted to share with others. I would be honored to share space with you!
